Version of 4 November 2026
This page is about the run reports in LOE Studio's games, for now only Ion Tide. A run report is one small record of a finished run, which helps the studio balance the game. Reports are off until you say yes.
"The studio" means [LLC's legal name: to be filled in], of [country: to be filled in].
After you say yes, each finished run leaves one report on your computer. The game sends it later, from the title screen. Debug and test versions of the game, and the demo, send nothing.
This is everything in a report. The numbers are in game seconds unless it says otherwise.

Every piece of text in a report is a short id or number, and the server refuses anything else. So a report can't carry a message or a name.
Your name, your Steam ID or account, details of your computer or operating system, the time of day, your save file, or anything you typed.
When it connects, the game names itself and its version (for example IonTide/0.29.0), and nothing about your system. Connecting to any server also shows it your IP address, as with any internet connection. See what the server stores and what Cloudflare handles.
For each report: a running number, the day it arrived (in UTC, a date with no time), the game, the version, your random number, the report's random number, and the report itself.
The studio's server program doesn't store or log your IP address, your connection's headers, or the exact time. Its logging is turned off. It also limits each random number to 200 reports a day, by counting the reports it has stored.
Reports are used to balance the game: to see which ships, weapons and difficulties work too well or not well enough. Nothing in a report changes the game by itself. Reports aren't sold, aren't used for advertising, and aren't used to identify you.
Reading them takes a secret key that only the studio's developer holds. The developer downloads them to a private computer to make balance reports. Those balance reports show counted numbers and ids, not individual reports. Cloudflare keeps the data on the studio's behalf, as described below.
The server and these pages run on Cloudflare, in the United States and wherever else its network operates. The database is in its Eastern North America region. As the host, Cloudflare handles every connection, whatever the studio's program does:
Visiting this website goes through Cloudflare in the same way. These pages set no cookies of the studio's and use no analytics. Cloudflare also adds a standard instruction asking web browsers to report connection failures to it.

run_reports/install.cfg in the folder with your save, you can send the studio the number in it, and the studio will delete those reports.Write to privacy@loestudio.org.
The studio's email is hosted by Proton Mail, which holds messages sent to this address. Your email address and message are used only to answer you. See Proton's privacy policy.
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. If reports were ever to include anything new, the contents listed here would change first.
